An interesting thread on Threadwatch has sparked a lot of discussions on Friday about some rumors that goes as follow:
A number of adsense publishers have been receiving emails from Google in the past few days saying that the way they use their adsense account is an unacceptable way of using adsense and that their account will disable on June 1st 2007, giving them about two weeks notice to get ready to loose their account. The good news is that Google will be paying the money earned to those publishers, so they do not need to worry about loosing any income earned so far.
Yeah sure, like they will do that with their money makers… I dont think so!
Publishers are getting what??? Only a couple of weeks notice to ensure that they are not sending traffic to pages that no longer show adsense. It will be quite interesting to see what happens after they implement that, be ready to see their stock drop quickly… I bet you a hundred bucks that Yahoo, MSN and Miva will now get their fare share of arbitragers? We havent seen a Google press release yet nor post on the official blog but rest assured that when it becomes known at large, publishers will start yelling! Lets start a publisher syndicate and show Google who’s the boss… Please comment below if you got the letter or if you think it is a wise/obnoxious move from Google.
Mike
